The historic Bald Rock Lodge was built by CCC Company 2420 as the original hotel and restaurant for the park. The Bald Rock Group Lodge includes 12 rooms that sleep up to 32 overnight guests, a full-service kitchen, a large conference/banquet hall with seating for over 100 people, an intimate lounge with a rock fireplace (gas), a stone patio.
At the 2024 & 2025 Southern States 200, The lodge proved to be an amazing finish location. When you cross the finish line, it’s literally 100 to 200 ft to your room. The commercial kitchen, also steps from the finish, allowed us to cook made-to-order food for finishers. If the weather is nice, sit out in the patio to recover and eat. If it’s cold, warm up by the fires in the lodge room or the cozy den. Both steps from the finish.
Have a little food after finishing, then go to your room for a hot shower and a few hours of sleep. Come back later and have a full meal. Or, just SLEEP! The choice is yours if you reserve a room at the BALD ROCK LODGE.
Runners may reserve a room for themselves for just one night if you are reasonably sure when you will finish. You may reserve a room for two nights or three nights if you prefer. When you reserve a room for nights before you expect to finish, your crew is welcome to stay in the room while waiting for your arrival.
Runner crews staying in the lodge may request permission to go to Lost Gulch to meet their runner. The only parking at Lost Gulch is along the side of the road leading up to Cheaha State Park. No more than two or three cars are allowed at this aid station at any one time. The aid station is 9 miles from Bald Rock Lodge.
Bald Rock Lodge is 17 miles from Fay’s Blowdown and 24 miles from Highrock Aid Station. This is the ideal place for your crew to stay as you approach the finish. Rooms are $165 per night and provides you with 24 hour access to the park for the duration of your stay.
